Kimberly's Bio Kimberly Prendez was born and raised in Los Angeles. She comes from a family of actors, writers, painters and musicians. Kimberly’s mother was an Actress before getting married and deciding to stay home and raise her children. Kimmy, as the family called her, showed her first signs of wanting to be on stage at the tender age of 3, by getting on the brick platform of the fireplace singing into the handle of a jump rope, demanding the attention of everyone! At Christmas time she and her older brother would put on shows for the family, in costume and all. She was always a quiet child, reserved would best describe her. Her father would always call her the thinker “Kim is in deep thought again” he would say. When it was time to perform though, all of that went away.
As a young teen Kimberly started taking acting classes at school and at the local community colleges. She also entered her first beauty pageant at the age of 14. I think her father was reluctant about allowing her to do it but he did, and she came home with the first place trophy. Kimberly began studying her favorite actresses in old movies that her Father introduced to her. Marilyn Monroe, Vivian Leigh, Ingrid Bergman to name a few. Being the quiet soul she is it allowed her to take it all in and realize this is what she wants to do ….be in the movies, and as her famous quote says “I want to affect the audience.” The part of her that is still reserved allows her to listen and really hear whomever she is “playing” with, thus affecting the audience.
Ms. Prendez has always been involved in the arts, and now her life long love of acting is developing into a very promising career. Just in the last three years she has starred in over a dozen films, landed a leading role in a Pilot for the up-coming modern day Twilight Zone “Tales from the Other Side,” has done regional commercials and had the chance to do an editorial layout with R&B sensation Jaheim. Kimberly was also chosen by Artist Interviews Magazine as one of their featured “up and coming” Hollywood actresses. In Sept. 2006 Kimberly was also a nominee for "Actress of the Month" for the very prestigious, Independent Film Alliance.
Kimberly is currently studying with Dialect/Acting coach Larry Moss and at the Ivana Chubbuck Studios with Chris Holder.
To add even more to her resume, Kimberly has just finished production on her first self written/produced film entitled Until Next Time, a period piece set in 1945, shot on Super 16 B/W film. Ms. Prendez starred in the film as Gabriella, a woman who has lost the love of her life and has made an interesting choice on how to replace him. You can read more about the film and view the trailer at www.kimberlyprendez.com/untilnexttime. Kimberly is definitely festival bound with this amazing project. This is going to be a very exciting year for Kimberly.
